In a recent gathering in Jakarta for the Solidarity Act for Palestine, Muhadjir Effendi, the coordinating minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), emphasized Indonesia’s unwavering stance on supporting Palestine’s independence. This message was delivered alongside Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, reinforcing the Indonesian government’s position on this critical international issue.

According to Antara News Agency, their participation in the event was on behalf of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and served to clarify the Indonesian government’s strong commitment to the Palestinian cause. “We will support Palestine with all of our strength until Palestine is free,” he asserted, encouraging the public to continuously pray for the well-being and freedom of the Palestinian people from their prolonged suffering.

Minister Qoumas, addressing the attendees, called for prayers for the martyrs who fell victim to Israel’s regime, highlighting the collective empathy towards the Palestinian people’s plight. He expressed a hopeful vision for peace, justice, and independence for Palestine.

Foreign Affairs Minister Marsudi brought attention to Indonesia’s tangible efforts in supporting Palestine, mentioning that the first batch of humanitarian aid, encompassing contributions from both the government and community, had been dispatched to Palestine. She indicated that upon arrival, this aid would be distributed through humanitarian institutions, marking a significant step in Indonesia’s support for Palestine.
