Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed about the case of buying gold from an online seller that the incident was an online gold trade. From the investigation, no victims have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Board. Therefore, it has been ordered to take proactive action, go to the area to inspect, collect information, and look at the advertising and lottery to see if it complies with the law or not. The seller and the victims will be invited to provide information within 1-2 weeks. At the same time, it is known that it is registered as direct sales, so the platform will be invited to provide information as well.

Ms. Jiraporn added that when the trade is
registered as direct sales, there will be laws to take care of customers, such as if it is not as described, not authentic, or not as advertised, the product can be returned within 7 days. If after 7 days there is no return, but it is found that the product may not be authentic or not as advertised, it will be the duty of the Consumer Protection Board to inspect.

Ms. Jiraporn mentioned the case where the shop owner did not specify whether the gold was real or fake, that she must investigate the advertising to see if it was misleading about the product, what kind of promotion, or if it violated the ministerial regulations. If it is found to be wrong, further action will be taken. If it is found to be wrong, the Consumer Protection Board will impose a prison sentence and a fine. She confirmed that she is ready to take care of consumers who have been unfairly treated and may need to have proactive public relations to encourage consumers to buy gold from reliable places.
