Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized the necessity for a unified Arab and Islamic stance and a coordinated effort to address unprecedented Israeli actions in Jerusalem, particularly at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during a meeting held at Al-Husseiniya Palace with the Arab Ministerial Committee responsible for confronting illegal Israeli measures in occupied Jerusalem, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's ongoing dedication to its historical and legal role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under the Hashemite custodianship.

The committee included foreign ministers from Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Palestine, Egypt, and Morocco, as well as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. Representatives from Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia also participated in the discussions.

Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan was present as the King highlighted the risks of leveraging regional unrest to establish new realities in the holy city. He pointed out the potential for conflict escalation due to continued Israeli actions in the West Bank and efforts to annex land and expand settlements.

The meeting, which included Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs, focused on the importance of implementing all stages of the comprehensive peace plan in the Gaza Strip.

Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and the Director of the King's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh.
