Bangkok: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Thailand-China relations, the two nations are happily strengthening their friendship and stepping into a new decade. “Chao Sua Dhanin – Settha – Deputy Ambassador Wu” participated in a talk, reflecting on the Thai-Chinese economy and opening perspectives to prepare for the future.
According to Thai News Agency, activities to celebrate this milestone, organized by the ‘Matichon Group’, included an Exclusive Dinner Talk where Deputy Ambassador Wu Zhiwu delivered a speech. Settha Thavisin, former Prime Minister, and Chao Sua Dhanin shared insights on the economic and geopolitical aspects of Thai-Chinese relations.
Mr. Wu Zhiwu, Deputy Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand, inaugurated the forum with a lecture on “Thai-Chinese Cooperation for Sustainable Relations in the Future.” During the Exclusive Dinner Talk, Mr. Settha Thavisin highlighted the significance of geopolitics and shared his experiences regarding the evolution of Thai-Chinese relations, with a particular focus on economic cooperation. He discussed the current state of relations and proposed strategies for fostering a stronger partnership between Thailand and China.
Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Executive of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., provided a macro-economic perspective, reflecting on the era when his company became the first foreign enterprise to invest in China. He spoke about the era of economic reforms initiated by Deng Xiaoping, detailing the relationships, challenges, and opportunities that have led to present-day successes.
