Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) stated that the Quality Family Village (Kampung KB) program has activities that keep adolescents mentally stable and healthy.”At the village level, we have activities that are not stressing for children,” BKKBN Deputy for Population Control Bonivasius Prasetya Ichtiarto stated here on Saturday. ccording to Ichtiarto, BKKBN holds the Genre (Generation Planning) Forum and mobilizes the Youth Family Development Class (BKR) at the village level. Meanwhile, Ichtiarto remarked that the Kampung KB program is based on Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2022 on the Optimization of Quality Family Village Implementation. In the Presidential Instruction, the implementation of Kampung KB must pay attention to the development of every individual in the family. The BKR aims to address the increase in the number of mental emotional disorders in the population aged under 15. In 2013, the figure was 6.1 percent, and it was 9.8 percent in 2018, according to the 2018 basic health research data. Ichtiarto explained that BKR is an activity conducted by families in the form of activity groups, where parents are taught by facilitators and cadres how to improve and raise their children. The target of this program is families with children aged 6-21 years and unmarried. The class provides interesting activities for adolescents. The class material includes prosperous family development, family functions, reproductive health education, and youth development. In addition, the BKKBN has deployed Generation Planning (GenRe) ambassadors, who are also teenagers, to educate their peers about the importance of planning for the future. By creating a forum for teenagers at the village level, Ichtiarto said, they can share stories and exchange ideas in a more comfortable manner. By sharing with their peers, they are not fixated on matters that can disturb their mental stability, such as child marriage, promiscuity, illegal drug use, and mobile addiction. “The BKR class makes them enjoy (youth) as well as be productive for life,” he stated.
