Kien Giang launches project to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality low-emission rice


The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on July 16 launched a project to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030. The province plans to carry out the project on a total acreage of ??200,000 hectares in 12 districts and cities with a total investment of more than 596 billion VND (23 million USD) from the provincial budget, World Bank loans and private capital. Some 60,000 hectares will be dedicated in 2024, 100,000 hectares in 2025 and the remaining for the phase 2 from 2026 to 2030.
