Knocked down to pay compensation to the families of the bus fire victims who died, 1 million baht per person.


“Suriya”, Minister of Transport, approved compensation for the families of victims of the school bus fire, resulting in 1 million baht per person killed and 700,000 baht for those disabled.

Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, chaired a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Office Disaster Relief Fund Committee to provide assistance to families affected by the fire incident involving a school bus carrying teachers and students.

After the meeting, Mr. Suriya revealed that the meeting of the Disaster Relief Fund Committee resolved to approve the payment of assistance to those affected by this case: 1 million baht per person for death, 700,000 baht per person for disability, 200,000 baht per person for serious injuries, and 100,000 baht per person for minor injuries.

For those who died in the fire incident of the school bus carrying teachers and students of Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School, they will receive a total of 2.39 million baht in compensation, of which 1 millio
n baht will come from the fund according to the above criteria.

In addition, 1 million baht will be received from the bus company’s insurance, 200,000 baht from the Ministry of Justice’s fund, 180,000 baht from the Ministry of Education’s fund, and 10,000 baht from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s fund. The Ministry of Education will send a list of names and information of all those affected to the fund committee so that they can be paid within the next week.
