KPK grills former Pertamina, PLN bosses over LNG graft case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday questioned four witnesses in a case involving alleged corruption in the procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina between 2011 and 2021.

“Today, the questioning of witnesses in the graft case related to the procurement of LNG at Pertamina took place at the KPK Office,” KPK acting spokesman Ali Fikri informed in Jakarta on Thursday.

The four witnesses were former president director of Pertamina, Dwi Soetjipto; former president director of state-owned electricity company PT PLN, Nur Pamudji; former Pertamina commissioner Evita Herawati Legowo; and lecturer at Bogor Institute of Agriculture, Anny Ratnawati.

Earlier, KPK had confirmed that it is investigating the alleged graft case. The anti-graft body said it will announce the suspects and the chronology of the case once it detains the suspects.

KPK has also questioned a number of witnesses, including Pertamina employees, in connection with the case. The questioning of the witnesses was necessary to understand the initial process of LNG procurement at PT Pertamina.

KPK also has seized several documents related to the case as evidence while conducting searches at several locations.
