Vientiane – La Vie International Hospital, dedicated to serving Vietnamese expatriates in Laos, was inaugurated in Vientiane on November 18.
According to Vietnam News Agency, The hospital which has received licensing from the Lao Ministry of Health, is also open to Lao residents. The 50-bed facility specializes in cardiology and endocrinology. Deputy Governor of Vientiane Phukhong Bannavong remarked at the inauguration ceremony that the hospital’s operation significantly contributes to the health sector and economic development of Laos.
He highlighted the strong bond between Laos and Vietnam, strengthened over decades. Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung emphasized the hospital’s importance for the healthcare sector in Vientiane and the Vietnamese community. The hospital has established a partnership with the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese (ALOV) and Hanoi Medical University Hospital to serve the Vietnamese community and Lao people requiring medical examination and treatment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, described the new facility as a leading cardiovascular center equipped with modern technology for comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular and other vascular diseases.
