Bangkok: The Prime Minister, along with Khunying Potjaman and her family, led the Cabinet and the public to participate in the 10th Walk, Run, Cycle to Prevent Paralysis Project in Honor of His Majesty the King. Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony of the project on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, held at the Charoen Suk Mongkhon Chit Cycling Track in Samut Prakan Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the event saw the participation of key cabinet members, including Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, among others. The gathering also included representatives from various public and private sectors, as well as the general public.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and the Siriraj Stroke Center, among other organizations. It aimed to honor His Majest
y the King and Her Majesty the Queen, who are seen as role models for Thai people in promoting health and exercise. The initiative also focused on raising awareness about stroke prevention under the theme ‘Healthy Thais, Healthy Brains.’
The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure in joining the exercise activity to honor the King, emphasizing the importance of health awareness and exercise in preventing stroke. He highlighted the King’s role in promoting good health for Thai citizens and encouraged exercise as a sustainable part of people’s lifestyles.
In his address, the Prime Minister thanked the Stroke Center, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and all involved in organizing the event, underscoring the opportunity it provided for public participation. The event concluded with a group photo featuring the Prime Minister, cabinet members, and other key figures, followed by a ceremony to release participants in a 23 km cycling event.
