Phnom dong rak: Lawyer Nobi took a former ranger who punched a Cambodian soldier in the face during a confrontation on July 13 to acknowledge the charges at the Phnom Dong Rak Police Station. Tourists flocked to cheer on the soldier and visit the Ta Muen Thom temple, where they found that Cambodia had installed CCTV cameras that looked into the Thai side.
According to Thai News Agency, this afternoon, Mr. Kritsada, or Lawyer Nobi, brought Mr. Sommai, a former ranger who punched a Cambodian soldier in the face during a confrontation on July 13, to acknowledge the charges in order to enter the legal process with the investigator at the Phanom Dong Rak Police Station.
Lawyer Nobi stated that his visit to the director at the Phanom Dong Rak Police Station was due to two cases: Case 1 involved Mr. Sommai, a former ranger, who punched a Cambodian soldier. The chaos was reportedly caused by a Cambodian female soldier who claimed to be a tourist and instigated the situation, leading to a near clash and Thai people evacuating to a bunker. Both incidents caused discomfort among the people. Today, he brought Uncle Sommai to acknowledge the charges and enter the justice process. Additionally, he filed a complaint against Colonel Norodom Pan Monica, a Cambodian female soldier who allegedly caused chaos in Thailand and must be prosecuted.
Mr. Sommai, the former ranger, expressed his remorse, saying in tears that he accepted his guilt and would not run away. He emphasized his commitment to protecting his land.
Pol. Col. Noppadol Pinij-akson, Superintendent of Phanom Dong Rak Police Station, confirmed that they have received both cases, and Lawyer Nobi will file additional complaints. The case may be combined with the military’s existing case. The police are committed to proceeding according to the law and will conduct a thorough investigation.
Throughout the day, tourists continued to visit Prasat Ta Muen Thom, located in Tambon Ta Miang, Amphoe Phanom Dong Rak, Surin Province, to support the soldiers and explore the temple. Both Thai and Cambodian military officers provided assistance to their citizens. Notably, Cambodia installed several CCTV cameras on their side, facing the Thai side, which attracted the interest of many Thai tourists. Reports indicate that the Cambodian woman involved in the initial confrontation is expected to return to Prasat Ta Muen Thom tomorrow.
