Maha sarakham: Students prepare ready-made food to send as encouragement to soldiers on the front lines. Students and faculty from Maha Sarakham University, along with members of the public and the private sector, are supporting the production of ready-to-eat food, including fried rice, sticky rice, fried beef, fried pork, and sticky rice with durian, to be sent to soldiers on the front lines as a form of encouragement.
According to Thai News Agency, reporters stated that the Second Army Region, led by Maj. Gen. Atthachai Raksasin, Commander of the 21st Military Circle, and his delegation, traveled to the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition, Faculty of Technology, Maha Sarakham University (MSU). The delegation observed the production and processing of ready-to-eat food by students from the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition, Faculty of Technology, Maha Sarakham University. The food will be distributed to personnel protecting national sovereignty along the Thai-Cambodian border. Assistant Professor Dr. Aswin Amornsin, a lecturer in the department and an expert in food processing and preservation, as well as the developer of ready-to-eat emergency food products previously produced for those quarantined for COVID, led the production tour.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Aswin explained that food production for border soldiers emphasizes deliciousness, portability, and a shelf life of up to one year. This is ideal for soldiers on the front lines to carry while on patrol and not returning to their base of operations. The Department of Food Technology utilizes sterilization technology, a process that kills germs and allows food items such as fried rice, sticky rice, fried pork, and fried beef to be stored for one to two years. Students, faculty, alumni, the private sector, and the public have provided generous donations to purchase raw materials for production, leading to the creation of this project to provide moral support from the rear. MSU has previously processed agricultural ingredients to create valuable and valuable products, such as ready-to-eat sticky rice with durian, and delivered them to Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the Second Army Area, for distribution to border troops to boost morale.
