Man Claims to Be Special Forces Officer, Grabs Gun and Injures Two Officers in Bangkok

Bangkok: A chaotic incident unfolded in Din Daeng District when a man claiming to be a special forces officer seized a policeman’s gun and accidentally fired it, injuring two officers. The situation was swiftly managed, and the man was taken into custody for questioning at Sutthisan Police Station.

According to Thai News Agency, the unsettling event took place in a condo park on Soi Ratchada 16. The man was later transported to the Police General Hospital. Initial investigations revealed that patrol officers from Sutthisan Police Station had been alerted to a disturbance caused by the man in a condo garden. Upon arrival, they encountered the man, who appeared to be intoxicated and asserted that he was a special forces officer.

The officers attempted to engage with the man and encouraged him to accompany them to the police station. However, he resisted and grabbed a patrol officer’s gun. During the struggle, the firearm discharged twice, with bullets striking the left chest and left upper arm areas protected by a bulletproof vest. Fortunately, the situation was brought under control, and the man was escorted to Sutthisan Police Station for further questioning.
