The Meteorological Department warns that on 7-8 Sept., the North and upper Northeast will experience heavy rain and strong winds in some areas.
The Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours: The North, Northeast, Central, East and the West Coast of the South will experience heavy rain in some areas. People in the aforementioned areas should beware of the dangers of heavy rain and accumulated rain which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides near waterways and lowlands. Also, beware of the dangers of strong gusts of wind that may occur. This is because the southwest monsoon is quite strong and is covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
For waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, they are quite strong with waves 2-3 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 3 meters. n 2 meters. Sailors in the aforementioned areas are asked to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should refrain from sailing from the shore until September 8, 2024.
In addition, Typhoon ‘Yagi’ (YAGI) covers the upper South China Sea. It is expected to move through Hainan Island, China and make landfall in northern Vietnam during 6-7 September 2024. After that, it will weaken into a tropical storm and then a depression. This will cause heavy rain and strong winds in some areas of the North and Upper Northeast during 7-8 September 2024.
