Metropolitan Electricity Authority Announces Closure on Chulalongkorn Day with Alternative Bill Payment Options


Bangkok: The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has announced that all its offices will be closed on Chulalongkorn Day, Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Despite the closure, MEA has ensured that customers will still be able to pay their electricity bills at designated locations and through various digital platforms.

According to Thai News Agency, MEA has arranged for bill payment services to be available at three government centers during the holiday. Customers can make payments at the Central Plaza Westgate Shopping Center, Fashion Zone, 1st Floor, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and at CentralPlaza Chaengwattana, 3rd floor, and The Mall Ngamwongwan, 5th floor, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Regular services will resume at all other MEA offices on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Furthermore, MEA encourages customers to utilize online service channels for convenience. The MEA Smart Life Application allows users to pay bills using Mastercard and Visa credit cards. This app can be downlo
aded for free from the App Store and Play Store. Additionally, payments can be made at 7-Eleven stores, CenPay, Tops Supermarket, Family Mart, and Central Food Hall outlets, or through any other payment agent.

MEA’s e-Service provides a comprehensive range of electrical services online, accessible 24 hours a day at https://meaeservice.mea.or.th/. Customers can request new electricity connections, check their electricity usage history, and avail of payment services. For those preferring digital receipts, MEA offers the e-Bill service where customers can receive invoices and payment reminders electronically by signing up at https://ebill.mea.or.th.

In case of power outages, MEA assures around-the-clock assistance is available.
