Jakarta (ANTARA) – Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Unohoped that more collaborations between the government and private parties would be established in the tourism and creative industry sectors as it could open jobs for the people.Unomade the statement here on Saturday, regarding the implementation of the 18th Edition of the Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023 held on June 2-5at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The international music festival remains popular among audiences of various age groups and has become a part of Indonesia’s creative economy development. “It is estimated that 10 thousand workforces are indirectly benefited (by the event). It is massive, and we are proud that a special line has been prepared for international musicians at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,” Uno stated. “We also hope this kind of event can take place at our five super-priority tourism destinations,” he added. The minister commended private actors who have accommodated various parties in the event organisation. Music festivals such as JJF will benefit the country as, according to data, foreign visitors to the event accounted for 10-15 percent of the total visitors.Moreover, it can also help achieve the 1.4-billion domestic tourists’ movements target, he explained. Uno said that government facilities to organise large-scale events are also expected to positively impact the economy and open new jobs that furthermore could improve people’s welfare. Meanwhile, Dewi Gontha, President Director of Java Festival Production — the organizer of Java Jazz Festival — lauded various parties supporting the event, including the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry. The supply chain for the event, she noted, involves various parties in the creative economy, culinary, fashion, and other sectors. ontha also emphasised that one reason to continue organising Java Jazz Festival is to attract foreign tourists visits to Indonesia. “We continue this festival in Indonesia to attract foreign tourists, and suggestions to organise jazz festivals at the five super-priority tourism destinations is also to facilitate foreign tourists,” the president director stated.
