Minister receives award from police, Jasa Raharja

Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has received a safety driving brevet from the Police Traffic Corps and an award from PT Jasa Raharja for his ministry’s consistent efforts towards ensuring public transportation safety.

He received the award at an event held to mark the 61st anniversary of PT Jasa Raharja here on Monday.

Accepting the award, Sumadi urged the National Police Traffic Corps and Jasa Raharja to continue working with the ministry to promote driving safety through various programs and activities.

“Happy Anniversary (to) Jasa Raharja. Hopefully, we can continue to improve transportation accident insurance services and also continue to provide lessons about driving safety, because people must be made aware of the importance of safety aspects,” he said.

The central government, through the Transportation Ministry, the police force, and state-owned companies such as PT Jasa Raharja, is continuously working to promote riding safety in Indonesia through many activities that target various groups ranging from children to adults, the minister added.

“We are committed to encouraging public awareness on driving safety. The collaboration that has been conducted so far has been running smoothly and there have been no difficulties,” he added.

Meanwhile, president director of Jasa Raharja, Rivan Achmad Purwantono, affirmed his company’s commitment to providing the best basic protection for victims of accidents involving land, sea, or air transportation.

He said he expected the number of vehicle accidents in Indonesia to continue to plummet and people to abide by traffic regulations to realize safety in driving.

Director general of land transportation, Budi Setiyadi; head of Traffic Police Inspector, General Firman Santyabudi; and members of PT Jasa Raharja also attended the event.
