Bangkok: Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, visited the Public Relations Department and assigned four missions to proactively communicate and win the hearts of the public. Ms. Supamas, in her role as the supervisor of the Public Relations Department, was accompanied by Ms. Yupha Thaweewattanakitboworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, and her team. The delegation was welcomed by Ms. Sudruthai Lertkasem, Director-General of the Public Relations Department.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas outlined her plan to implement important policies within four months. These policies span the economic, security, social, and environmental sectors. The aim is to enhance the communication of government policies to ensure they are beneficial, accurate, credible, and capable of building public trust.
The first mission is to effectively communicate government policies to the public, acting as a ‘bridge between the government and the public.’ The second mission involves utilizing technology and innovation to transform government communications into “state media that is up-to-date, timely, and relevant.” This will involve adapting thinking, working methods, and media formats to reach a wider audience using AI technology and innovation.
The third mission focuses on developing personnel to be ready for the new world by upskilling and reskilling them. This will involve equipping them with skills in technology, storytelling, and integrated digital communication. Finally, the fourth mission is to create a space for citizen participation with the government. By “listening to the people’s voices with your hearts,” the government aims to better understand citizens, leading to the development of policies that address national problems and meet public needs.
