Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is strengthening coordination for violence monitoring at educational units.The ministry’s Inspector GeneralChatarina Muliana said that the effort is being made to createa safe, comfortable, and fun learning space for students.
“Creating a learning space that is safe, comfortable, and fun for children is not just talk (but also) pays attention to the principles for the implementation,” she said in an official written statement released here on Thursday.
The holding of the “Monitoring Coordination Meeting (Rakorwas)” in Yogyakarta on Tuesday (February 21, 2023) was deemed one of the ways to strengthen the coordination.
The ministry’s inspectorate general has formulated a concept to change the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s Regulation Number 82 of 2015 regarding the prevention and handling of acts of violence in the educational unit environment as part of the evaluation.
Through Rakorwas, the ministry has emphasized its commitment to evaluating and preparing the aspects needed to support the eradication of violence in educational settings, including sexual violence, bullying, and intolerance.
The meeting also aimed to prepare a strategy for handling violence at educational institutions and formulate the concept for guidelines and instruments for handling violence in educational settings.
member of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 20212026 period, Indraza Marzuki Rais, who was also present at the meeting, said that reports and complaints are a part of public services.
“Public services are a form of the state’s presence to serve the community,” he added.
Rais said that coordination is frequently promoted, but is hard to achieve. To this end, he expressed the hope that effective coordination would be realized through Rakorwas.
