Ministry invites public to participate in G20 events

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics has pressed for participation from the public ahead of the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 event. To this end, the ministry had readied creative communication and innovation programs for providing an understanding of the 2022 G20 in Indonesia to the public.

“We will continue to develop other creative programs, so that the people understand and are able to participate in ensuring the success of the Indonesian Presidency at the G20,” Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Usman Kansong stated on Friday.

The ministry had readied an activity from the sales of G20 merchandise for the start-up incubation program, as part of the creative communication and innovation programs.

In terms of the communication aspect, apart from using the ministry’s social media channels, the G20Pedia e-book will continue to be updated in accordance with the developments and discussion on issues at the G20 2022.

Thus, the public can clearly understand the schedule and ideas implemented in the G20 in Indonesia, Kansong added.

Moreover, the ministry conducted events by collaborating with e-commerce providers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.

The ministry has collaborated with e-commerce providers in an effort to provide a virtual space for MSMEs to sell their G20 merchandise and contribute to the Proud of the Indonesian Products National Movement (Gernas BBI).

“Some e-commerce companies that we have invited are committed to providing a special landing page for MSMEs to sell and promote their G20 merchandise,” Kansong affirmed.

Thus, this method will help the G20 delegates to find unique souvenirs in Indonesia through technology.

In an effort to ensure that the community’s participation yields success, the ministry will ready an incubation program for local start-ups to join in to address the main issues to be discussed during the G20 Presidency.

“With the presence of this business incubation, we can showcase concrete evidence of the main issues discussed at the G20 Indonesia, such as in terms of economic recovery, sustainable industry (energy transition), and digital connectivity,” Kansong expounded.
