Ministry to learn about technology adoption from CUFS

The Religious Affairs Ministry will gain insights on the use of technology for equitable access to education from Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (CUFS), South Korea.

“Cyber Hankuk (University) of Foreign Studies is a good example of how technology and education should be implemented,” Director General of Islamic education at the Religious Affairs Ministry M. Ali Ramdhani noted in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Ramdhani’s statement was made during a meeting between officials of the ministry and the Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to forge synergy between the ministry and Cyber Hankuk through the meeting. Ramdhani pressed for the need for involvement of Korean technology in the Indonesian education system.

Ramdhani opined that technology should indeed be part of the efforts to advance humanity and ensure equality and accessibility of education.

“According to the directives of (Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas), PTKI (Islamic Religious College) (one) needs to learn from the success of Cyber Hankuk in combining technology and education,” he remarked.

He opined that the technology development climate in South Korea was immensely beneficial. Its development is quite rapid and covered several aspects of the people’s lives, encompassing industry, robotics, and education.

Hence, it was only apposite that the ministry cooperated with South Korea for the use of technology for equitable access to education, he concluded.

“I believe today’s meeting will lead to beneficial cooperation in education matters for both Indonesia and Korea. I compel the Cyber Hankuk team to visit Indonesia, visit the Religious Affairs Ministry,” Pratomo added.

Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas expected that the cooperation built along with Cyber Hankuk University could improve humanity and benefit the two countries.

“I hope that the close cooperation between the Religious Affairs Ministry and Cyber Hankuk University would be realized soon,” he stated.
