We must be grateful, Indonesia is still in good condition
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Head of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko appealed to all elements of the nation to jointly overcome the threat of food, energy and global uncertainties that triggered the economic crisis.
“I invite all elements of the nation, especially the tens of thousands of worshipers present, to work together to face this formidable challenge. I believe our prayers have tremendous power to generate hope and optimism,” he said during Dhikr Manaqib Akbar and Haul Syekh Abdul Qodir Al Jailani RA event, at Al Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School, Karawang, West Java, on Saturday night.
Indonesia was faced with abnormal conditions, in the midst of many countries facing economic crises that could have an impact on other crises, he said in a press release on Sunday,
Based on IMF data, there are at least 60 countries whose economies are expected to collapse, and 42 of them are on the verge of collapse, he said.
“We must be grateful, Indonesia is still in good condition. Food and energy security is still maintained. The economy continued to grow even though inflation rose more than 4 percent. But we also have to be vigilant,” he said.
He stated that the government has so far worked hard to not burden the public with rising commodity prices caused by global uncertainty, for example by providing subsidies for fuel and gas, which amounted to Rp502 trillion.
“So, for those of you who ride motorbikes, the state subsidizes you Rp3.7 million in one year. For those of you who ride a car, the state subsidizes you Rp19.2 million in one year. Hence, I ask you all to be frugal in using fuel,” he advised.
At the end of his speech, he asked the worshipers and other elements of society to continue to cultivate love for the nation, and always be optimistic that Indonesia will achieve its goat to become Advanced Indonesia in 2045.
“I want to cultivate a strong spirit. We must not be a weak and pessimistic nation. And I reiterate to you that defending the country is not just about taking up arms. But we also need to guard our hearts and minds for the survival of this country,” he explained.
After delivering his remarks, he and tens of thousands of worshipers performed praying and dhikr, led by the manager of the Al Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School KH. Junaedi Al-Baghdadi.
The event was attended by more than 30 thousand worshipers who came from various cities and provinces.
