The shop owner, Uncle Phet, aged 70, said that he used a marble mortar to grind coffee beans. Regular customers came to order coffee and also bought food and snacks for Uncle Phet.

Uncle Phet tells the story in a good mood, saying that now that he’s old, he opens the shop only from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The reason why customers are so impressed is probably because he grinds the coffee right in front of you, uses a marble mortar to grind the coffee beans, and dri
ps cold coffee. The sweetness is from May honey, and the richness is from real Nongpho fresh milk. He confirms that the coffee here tastes no less than famous brands, but the price is cheap at only 25 baht per cup. The best-selling day is a holiday. He used to make and sell up to 70 cups a day.

Uncle said that before he got to where he is today, he had done many businesses, but life had its ups and downs. The businesses he had built also failed. When he ran out of money, he took on jobs as gardening and camping workers to survive. But in the end, he saw that coffee and tourists go together, so he decided to open a coffee shop, using a stone mortar to grind coffee as a selling point. The coffee is sourced from Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, where his uncle’s friends grow it organically.
