“Mongkol” admits he couldn’t hold back tears, overwhelmed with emotion speaking on behalf of the villagers

Parliament, “Mongkol” admits to tears, moved by “Red Senator” talking about things his parents had done before.

Reporters reported that in the Senate meeting, with Gen. Kriangkrai Srirak, the first vice president of the Senate, acting as the chairman of the meeting, the draft of the 2024 fiscal year budget bill, B.E. …, a budget of 122 billion baht, to be used in the ten thousand baht top-up project via digital wallets.

While Ms. Daeng Kongma, a group of senators from other business operators, was discussing, Mr. Mongkol Surassajja, the president of the Senate, who was sitting on the throne, listened to Ms. Daeng’s discussion and could not hold back his tears. He picked up a piece of paper to wipe his tears all the time and took out his mobile phone to record a clip of Ms. Daeng’s discussion.

However, the Senate President revealed that he cried and felt moved to have a villager come to serve as a Senator and speak on behalf of the villagers. At 72 years old, he had never had a villager sit in the parlia
ment and speak on his behalf. Others spoke well, and the President did not rush because what he said was good. We wanted him to speak because we would gain knowledge from what he said. And what made him feel moved was that he spoke about what our parents did in this profession before, that if a family received cash, they could use the money to buy cows and buffaloes, which is a village bank. At 72 years old, what he said was our parents’ way of life. If they had money to buy a cow, and after a year they had calves, they would sell the cows to send their children to school because rice was grown just for eating, not for selling.
