Moo Deng Project Donates 500,000 Baht to Chiang Mai Flood-Affected Schools


CHIANG MAI: The Zoological Park Organization of Thailand has extended a helping hand to flood-stricken schools in Chiang Mai by donating 500,000 baht through its “Moo Deng” project. This initiative aims to support both flood victims and the welfare of animals affected by the recent floods.

According to Thai News Agency, the donation ceremony took place today at the Chiang Mai Zoo Office Building, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jessada Tonawanik, Chairman of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, was joined by key figures including Mr. Phatra Khamphithak, Mr. Atthaporn Sriran, Ms. Jongkolnee Kaewsod, and Ms. Somrak Busapthamrong. They collectively presented financial aid to ten schools impacted by the flooding in Chiang Mai Province. The schools include Wat Sao Hin School, Kawilawittayalai School, Wang Sing Kham Temple School, and others, covering both urban and rural areas.

The initiative was led by Mr. Nathee Damrong, Mayor of San Sai Luang Subdistrict Municipality, and witnessed participation from school r
epresentatives and students. The “Moo Deng” project is a part of the organization’s broader objectives to aid flood victims and to ensure the welfare of wild animals. The organization stresses the importance of societal support during natural disasters, aiming to improve the quality of life for those affected, in alignment with its societal responsibilities as a state enterprise.

Chiang Mai has experienced significant flooding, considered the most severe in recent history, affecting homes, schools, and properties. The Zoological Park Organization of Thailand remains committed to alleviating the hardships faced by the community and continues to advocate for animal welfare and public assistance during such catastrophic events.
