Poipet: The mother of a 27-year-old woman who fell from a building in Poipet took the body back to her hometown in Khon Kaen province for religious rites, maintaining her belief that her daughter was murdered and her death staged.
According to Thai News Agency, the grieving mother of Ms. Kanokwan, also known as Bai Mon, collected her daughter’s body from the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police General Hospital, after the autopsy was completed. She remains convinced that her daughter’s fall from the third-floor building was not accidental.
During the wait to retrieve the body, police questioned the mother about the events leading up to her daughter’s disappearance. Despite her grief, she expressed her determination to seek justice, insisting that her daughter, whom she had not been able to contact for three months, was a good person with no known enemies.
The vice president of the Thai Aid Center for Thais Abroad revealed that investigations point to the building being part of a scam orchestrated by a Chinese investor. The establishment reportedly ensnared hundreds of people from various nationalities, including Baimon, who were deceived into working there and subsequently imprisoned.
