Pattaya: A 26-year-old woman riding a motorcycle was fatally injured when a pickup truck struck her from behind as she was stopped at a red light on the Pattaya-Sattahip route.

According to Thai News Agency, the tragic incident occurred last night at approximately 10:45 PM. Dashcam footage revealed that the light for the straight lane was green, while the U-turn lane remained red. The victim, identified as Ms. Atcharaporn, was waiting in a lane permitting both straight and right turns when a pickup truck, appearing to change lanes, swerved into her vehicle’s rear. The collision left Ms. Atcharaporn seriously injured and unconscious at an intersection in the Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Despite rescue workers performing CPR and rushing her to Pattaya City Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 56-year-old man named Mr. Phongsathit, was found in a white pickup with significant front-end damage. He remained at the scene to provide a statement to the authorities, aided by evidence from a dashcam provided by a bystander.
