The PeduliLindungi is one application that could be developed as a government super app that serves various needs of the community after the pandemic ends, State-Owned Enterprises Deputy Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said.
The idea is still being discussed because there is a new presidential regulation that is currently being prepared under the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, he informed. The new regulation will decide whether Indonesia will have a single government-to-people interface application or multiple government-to-people interface applications.
“PeduliLindungi may become one of the options (for a government super app) because it has been downloaded by almost 100 million users,” Wirjoatmodjo said at a press conference on the SOE international conference in Nusa Dua, here on Tuesday.
The development of the PeduliLindungi application is currently being discussed by state-owned telecommunication provider PT Telkom Indonesia, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Communication and Information.
There are two potentials for the further development of the PeduliLindungi application. If the application becomes a health application, it will be used for health functions such as providing telemedicine services and services under state-owned healthcare and social security agency BPJS Kesehatan’s program, among others.
However, if the application is used for government technology in a broad sense, it may lead to its use for other functions, such as social assistance purposes.
Earlier, the deputy minister had revealed that the government is considering repurposing the COVID-19 contact-tracing mobile application PeduliLindungi after the pandemic ends.
PeduliLindungi has helped educate users that they need not go outside to visit the doctor and get medicine as they can access those services through online platforms, Wirjoatmodjo said during the SOE international conference on Monday.
The application even won the title of “The Best Government Collaboration for Pandemic Solution” at the 2022 Indonesia Brand Forum (IBF) Award.
