London: The Muslim World League welcomed the UK government's decision to ban the import of goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory and to impose restrictions on services linked to these settlements. It also welcomed the statement on the two-state solution issued by the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, in a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the League, His Excellency the Secretary-General, Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, commended this important and responsible stance in support of the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people. He called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt all violations by the Israeli government and to take effective and tangible measures against its attempts to impose a new demographic or geographic reality in the occupied Palestinian territory, including illegal settlement activity. His Excellency praised the statement issued by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt. He highlighted their firm solidarity with the Palestinian people and their unwavering support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them their right to establish their state in accordance with the two-state solution and the relevant international resolutions, as the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
