Mr. Niwatchai Kasem Mongkol, Secretary-General of the NACC, gave an interview on the case of the prosecution of Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakpal and his group, who were accused of receiving money from an online gambling website. He said that the Tao Poon Metropolitan Police Station had recently sent the case to the NACC office. The case against Pol. Col. Pakphum Phitsamai, who was involved in online gambling, had also been sent in full. Currently, the case is being unraveled to see what facts are involved, what evidence is there, and what additional facts need to be investigated or investigated to be used in the consideration. He confirmed that the consideration process is underway and there
will be no delay.

When asked if this matter is of public interest because it involves high-ranking police officers, and they want clarity on what happened, Mr. Niwatchai said that he did not think it was delayed because he had been following up with a letter to request the case file be returned, and the investigators had just sent the case file back to the NACC.

‘In the next step, we have to unravel the investigation report, what are the facts and evidence? Is it sufficient to accept? Is it sufficient to order an investigation? It is not slow,’ said Mr. Niwatchai.

As for the part where society wants the NACC to consider quickly because it will affect the promotion or return to government service, Mr. Niwatchai said that in terms of discipline, the employer can take action, which is already being taken, without having to wait for the results from the NACC committee. Meanwhile, the NACC investigates and if there is a basis for criminal offenses, it will forward the case to the Attorney General to indict or s
eize the assets to become state property. As for the disciplinary aspect, the employer has already punished the employee. The NACC will then look at whether the punishment is appropriate or not. If it is appropriate, then it will be up to the employer to take action.

As for the progress of the investigation into the luxury house ownership case in England by Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimol, the national police chief, the NACC has been investigating all the time. Currently, relevant persons have been invited to provide clarification, including Pol. Gen. Torsak, who has submitted a request to postpone the clarification to the NACC.

When asked if when checking the money line, if there is a problem only in the spouse’s part, can that official be acquitted? Mr. Niwatchai said that the wife’s assets, whether registered as married or not, are considered assets of the person submitting the account and debts. As long as it is not submitted and concealed, the person submitting is also guilty.
