Bangkok: Revealing the names of the “73 Arahants” who are set to discuss the draft of the 2026 budget bill, with the first meeting scheduled for June 9, 2025. The meeting will decide on the chairman and vice chairman and outline the framework for their work.
According to Thai News Agency, the list of the special committee considering the draft of the 2026 Budget Expenditure Act comprises 73 individuals. This group includes 18 members from the Cabinet, such as Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Ms. Manoporn Jernyosri, Deputy Minister of Transport, among others.
The People’s Party contributes 16 members to the committee, including Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul and Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn. Similarly, the Pheu Thai Party also has 16 representatives on the panel, with Mr. Niyom Wiwattanaditkul and Mr. Chusak Kirimatthong being notable members.
The Bhumjaithai Party is represented by 8 members, including Mr. Chatda Thaiseth and Mr. Chaichanok Chitchob. The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party follows with 4 members, while the Democrat Party has 3 representatives in the committee.
The Palang Pracharath Party has 2 members, and the Chartthaipattana Party, People’s Party, and Thai Sang Thai Party each have 1 representative on the committee. The special committee’s inaugural meeting is set to take place in Room CB 406 at the Parliament, where they will select leadership positions and establish the meeting agenda.
