The Minister of Agriculture presided over the opening of the Farm Expo 2024, an agricultural expo showcasing agricultural innovations and technologies, and presented a vision to increase the potential and capabilities of Thai farmers to have sustainable income.
Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the opening of the Farm Expo 2024, organized under the theme Revolutionising Farm Business, held at Hall 98 – 99, BITEC Bangna Exhibition and Convention Center, and presented her vision for driving the Thai agricultural economy to grow sustainably together, hoping that the Farm Expo 2024 will disseminate agricultural innovations and technologies to increase the potential and capabilities of Thai farmers to increase their income and improve their quality of life.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has a policy to drive the agricultural sector’s GDP to grow in line with the government’s policy of market-led, innovation-driven, and income-increasing, as well as t
o encourage farmers to create product brands and use innovation to create high-value agricultural products to increase their income. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) have prepared a sustainable agriculture plan in line with global environmental management trends by piloting the planting of rubber trees to join the carbon credit market on 100,000 rai. They have also prepared a plan to export 3.5 million tons of rubber that meets the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) criteria. If Thailand can penetrate the EU market before other rubber exporting countries, it will be able to set global rubber prices.

The agricultural expo, FARM EXPO 2024, is therefore an important opportunity for all sectors to join hands to elevate the quality of the Thai agricultural sector with innovation and technology that will help Thai agricultural products to be of quality, create opportunities, create jobs, create careers for Thai farmers to have income and a good quality of life, and drive the economy to grow continuously and sustainably.
