New Cabinet to be sworn in this evening


Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister announced that the new Cabinet will be sworn in this evening, while a group photo will be taken tomorrow before the special Cabinet meeting.

Ms. Nattareeya Thaweewong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Administration, informed the media that today the cabinet will travel to present the oath of office together before assuming the position after the results of the RT-PCR test yesterday (5 September) found that the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, were infected with COVID-19.

Tomorrow (September 7) at 9:15 a.m., the new cabinet will take a group photo on the lawn in front of Thai Khu Fah Building. Then at 10:00 a.m., there will be a special cabinet meeting to seek approval of the government’s policies to be announced to the parliament. After the meeting, the Prime Minister and the cabinet will hold a joint press conference inside Santi Maitri Build
ing, wearing yellow Thai silk.

While the atmosphere before the ID photo shoot of the new Cabinet, the Cabinet Secretariat (CSC) has made an appointment for the Cabinet to be ready from 2:00 PM onwards before traveling together from Government House to pay homage to His Majesty and take the oath before assuming the position at 6:15 PM.

The first minister to arrive at 2:02 p.m. was Ms. Thirat Rattanawanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, followed by Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, who arrived at Government House at 2:10 p.m.
