Chiang Mai: “Nong Eva,” the charming new star of the Chiang Mai Night Safari, is capturing the hearts of social media users with her endearing looks and playful demeanor.
According to Thai News Agency, the viral sensation began when the ‘Chiang Mai Night Safari’ Facebook page shared an adorable picture of ‘Nong Eva,’ a 3-year-old golden tiger, also known as a strawberry tiger. Her innocent appearance starkly contrasts with the fierce reputation typically associated with tigers. The post quickly garnered attention, with users commenting and sharing the image, expressing their delight and amusement. Some playful comments included, “What time did you become a tiger?” and “I want to pinch your belly.”
The recent surge in interest prompted a news team to visit the Chiang Mai Night Safari and witness ‘Nong Eva’s’ charm firsthand. They found that her delightful and playful nature matched her online persona. Notably, ‘Nong Eva’ possesses a rare fur color caused by a recessive gene, making her one of only 50-100 g
olden tigers worldwide.
The staff at the safari reported that Eva is particularly mischievous and enjoys interacting with visitors, especially children. Visitors eager to experience ‘Nong Eva’s’ cuteness can meet her at the Tiger Kingdom Zone (Tiger World) within the Chiang Mai Night Safari. She shares her space with another adorable tiger named ‘Nong Luna.’ Guests can visit between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., after which ‘Nong Eva’ prepares for her performance in the Tiger Show.
