Officials Arrest Suspects in Connection with Gold Robbery and Bombing Incidents

Narathiwat: Officials conducted a coordinated operation in Narathiwat Province, resulting in the arrest of three suspects linked to a gold shop robbery at a prominent shopping mall in Su-ngai Kolok and a bomb attack on the Central Investigation Bureau’s protection operation team in Kear Subdistrict, Sukirin District.

According to Thai News Agency, Colonel Sittichai Bamrungket, Commander of the Joint Task Force of Narathiwat Province, along with investigators from the Narathiwat Provincial Police and five special task force units from the 48th Ranger Regiment, executed the operation. They used technical data to investigate the suspects and locations associated with the June 28, 2015, bombing at the Kear Subdistrict Protection Unit and the October 5, 2015, gold shop robbery.

The first target of the operation was in Paluru Subdistrict, Su-ngai Padi District, where officials searched the home of Mr. Mayuha, father of the 25-year-old suspect, Mr. Azro. Although no illegal items were discovered, five items, including a mobile phone and clothing, were seized for examination, and DNA samples were collected from the occupants.

The second target was situated in the Al Ali Mosque Alley on the Pohong Kue Pas-Koh Ta Road, also in Palun Subdistrict. The 24-year-old suspect, Mr. Niarifan, was at this location. Officials, led by Mr. Muhamano, the homeowner, secured five items of evidence, including a mobile phone and a motorcycle, for further investigation.

The final target was another residence in Paluru Subdistrict, where the 43-year-old suspect, Mr. Anwa, resided. Officials conducted a search but found no illegal items.

The three individuals were taken to the Su-ngai Padi Police Station for additional questioning. They were subsequently transferred to the Special Task Force Interrogation Center at the 46th Ranger Regiment in Kaluwo Nuea Subdistrict for further interrogation.
