The Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) is searching for the best innovators in the insurance industry, OIC InsurTech Award 2024, under the concept of ‘Limitless Insurance with Intelligent Innovation’, competing for a cash prize of over 700,000 baht.
Ms. Mayurin Suttiratanaphan, Special Expert, Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), revealed that the OIC, through the Center of InsurTech, Thailand (CIT), organized the Insurance Technology Innovation Contest or OIC InsurTech Award 2024 under the concept of ‘Limitless Insurance with Intelligent Innovation’ to create and promote basic knowledge in the application of technology in the insurance industry for groups of students, personnel in the insurance industry, personnel in technology companies (Tech Firm), technology developers (Tech Startup), and the general public who are interested in and can apply their knowledge to develop innovations in the insurance industry effectively, which can facilitate the public who use the service to access the service more con
veniently and quickly.
This year’s OIC InsurTech Award 2024 focuses on creating innovations that apply digital technology to improve people’s quality of life and health through insurance products and services, and can facilitate people who use the service to access services conveniently and quickly, as well as strengthening the insurance industry by promoting the extension of insurance innovations (InsurTech) with new ideas and technologies.
It also supports the public’s access to insurance and provides more insurance knowledge to the public through technology. It is also expected that this year’s project will be a space for all sectors to share ideas and build on technological knowledge to create new innovations to develop the insurance industry endlessly. It will also create an Innovation Insurance Community, a space for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and experiences to jointly develop the insurance industry to keep up with the digital world.
The committee will make the first round of selection and prepare
a Consult Session for all 100 teams, where participants will receive knowledge and advice from expert mentors. Then, there will be a second round of selection to reduce the number of teams to 30 to participate in the Intensive Bootcamp workshop for 2 days and 1 night, with workshop activities to upskill participants, receive intensive and in-depth consultation from experts, and join the Pitching Day to select the final 10 teams, which will have the right to present their work for the committee to consider in the final round (Final Pitching) on November 5, 2024 at the OIC Office, Ratchadaphisek.
For the competition, it is divided into 2 categories: students and general public. The prizes will be divided into 5 prizes per category as follows: 1st prize, 100,000 baht; 2nd prize, 70,000 baht; 3rd prize, 50,000 baht; and 2 honorable mentions, 15,000 baht each.
