Orphaned Elephant ‘Plai Dok Kaew’ Relocated After Dramatic Exchange

Bangkok: In a tense and challenging operation today, ‘Plai Dok Kaew’, an orphaned elephant, was relocated to a new home following a dramatic confrontation regarding its care at the Elephant Care Center of the Elephant Conservation and Environment Foundation.

According to Thai News Agency, the attempt to move ‘Plai Dok Kaew’ involved several suspenseful moments, notably when the elephant broke through the car’s barrier. This incident occurred after a significant disagreement between Ms. Kanchana Silpa-archa, who previously purchased and placed the elephant at the center, and ‘Phi Lek Saengduan’, the foundation’s president. The dispute centered around the conditions and management of the elephant’s care, ultimately necessitating its relocation.

The operation took a total of four hours to safely secure ‘Plai Dok Kaew’ back into the transportation vehicle. The elephant’s move marks a new chapter for the animal, following the heated exchange that highlighted concerns over its welfare and the management practices
at the foundation. Further details about the new location and future plans for ‘Plai Dok Kaew’ have not yet been disclosed.
