“Paetongtarn” flies to attend ACD meeting in Doha


‘Prime Minister Paethongtarn’ flew to attend the ACD meeting in Doha, Qatar, to present her vision of taking over as the ACD Chair for the year 2025, promoting cooperation amidst challenges, and creating strength and bargaining power for member countries in the Asian region.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and her entourage departed from the 2nd Military Airport, Wing 6 at 1:30 p.m. to travel to Doha, Qatar, to attend the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Leaders’ Meeting from October 2 to 4, 2024, marking her first international trip since assuming the position of Prime Minister.

On Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 10.20 a.m. local time in Doha, which is 4 hours behind Thailand and 2.20 p.m. Thai time, the Prime Minister will deliver a statement on behalf of Thailand, as the host of the 2nd Leaders’ Meeting in 2016 and as the Chair of the ACD on January 1, 2025. The Prime Minister wants to push for the ACD to be a forum for policy discussions for cooperation among countries in Asia, to promote m
utual benefits, and to be a forum where member countries can exchange ideas with understanding and trust, in order to seek solutions to global challenges, including challenges from geopolitical competition among major powers.

Thailand can play a role in the international arena through its participation and as a bridge builder in the ACD forum, including promoting cooperation between the ACD and other cooperation frameworks. This cooperation will lead to national economic development, support trade and investment between the two countries for tangible benefits to the Thai people.
