Pai Lik Set to Discuss Deputy Speaker Quota at Coalition Party Dinner

Bangkok: “Pai Lik” is preparing to address the quota for the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives at a coalition party dinner scheduled for July 22. He has made it clear that the discussions are not aimed at negotiating for the position. Instead, he emphasized that if the party does not secure the quota, it will not be a significant issue, as there are many capable individuals within their ranks.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pai Lik, who serves as an MP for Kamphaeng Phet and the Secretary-General of the Klatham Party, spoke about the situation involving Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao. Mr. Prompao, an MP for Phayao and an advisor to the Klatham Party, had previously indicated that Mr. Pai would engage in discussions with coalition parties regarding the first deputy speaker quota. Mr. Pai confirmed that talks would take place during the dinner meeting on July 22.

When questioned about the Kla Tham Party’s intentions to nominate a candidate for the first deputy speaker position, Mr. Pai stated that such considerations were not pertinent. He reiterated the party’s stance on avoiding demands and focusing on dialogue. Mr. Pai stressed that the party is prepared for any outcome, highlighting their numerous capable members ready to serve if given the opportunity.
