Bangkok: PEA signed a contract to manage electricity from rooftop solar power generation systems for the Sports Authority of Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, on June 17, 2025, Mr. Prasit Chanprasit, Deputy Governor of the Provincial Electricity Authority, and Mr. Surasak Kerdjantuek, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, jointly signed an agreement to provide electrical power management services from solar power generation systems installed on the roof (Solar Rooftop) at the Theater Room, 4th Floor, Chalermprakiat Building, 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, Sports Authority of Thailand.
The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) is committed to upgrading the use of clean energy, promoting energy management with a Digital Platform system that will help analyze energy usage and manage electricity from self-consumption solar power generation systems in various forms for participating agencies efficiently and sustainably. This initiative is consistent with the Sports Authority of Thailand's emphasis on using clean energy to drive activities promoting awareness of efficient resource use and electricity management. This aligns with the government's policy to reduce energy consumption and focus on the long-term use of renewable energy by installing self-consumption solar power generation systems. The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower electricity costs, and demonstrate sustainable resource management through the Sports Authority of Thailand's activities and competition venues.
PEA has installed solar power generation systems on rooftops (Solar Rooftop) with a maximum installed capacity of no less than 3,770.20 kilowatts within the Sports Authority of Thailand in three locations: the Sports Authority of Thailand, the 700th Anniversary Chiang Mai Sports Stadium, and the 80th Birthday Anniversary Sports Center, 5 December 2007, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
