People support ‘Good Delivery Measures’ to protect consumers

People agree with the ‘Good Delivery Measure’ for consumers who buy products online with cash on delivery. They can open the product to check. If it is not as described, damaged or not ordered, they can refuse to receive the product and not pay.

Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, as the supervisor of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), announced the implementation of the Dee-Delivery measure, or allowing consumers who purchase products online with cash on delivery to open the product before paying. The customer must open the parcel in front of the delivery person and take a photo or video. If the product does not match the description, is damaged, or is not what was ordered, they can refuse to accept or pay, starting from October 3.

The reporter went to the area to ask for opinions from people in Khon Kaen Province. Ms. Mayuree, a local consumer, revealed that she agreed with the ‘Good Delivery Measure’ because previously, a scammer sent a product to her house to pay cash o
n delivery. The product was in her daughter’s name but not her last name, so she paid for it instead because her daughter was not home. However, when checking the product, it was a tripod for 699 baht, which her daughter did not order. She immediately notified the transport company to request a refund, but the transport company said that the money had already been deducted from the system after the product was sent. When asking the sender at the delivery address, they could not be contacted. So she went to file a police report and requested a refund from the transport company. However, a month has passed and there has been no progress. When there is the ‘Good Delivery Measure’, it is considered a good thing in using a delivery service by charging cash on delivery, which will help protect consumers and prevent being deceived by scammers, whether it is not ordering the product or ordering the product but not receiving it as described. This will allow them to reject the product and not pay for it.
