Chiang rai: The People’s Party has announced Suthat Yala as their candidate for the upcoming MP election in Chiang Rai District 7, challenging the incumbent Pheu Thai Party for the seat.
According to Thai News Agency, the Election Commission opened registration for the Chiang Rai Constituency 7 election on August 13th, with the process taking place at the Chiang Saen District Office auditorium in Chiang Rai Province.
On the fourth day of registration, Suthat Yala from the Prachachon Party became the second candidate, receiving number 2 on the ballot. This brings the total number of candidates to two, with the other being from the Pheu Thai Party. Registration for candidates will close on August 17th, with the process running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The election for MPs in Constituency 7, which includes Mae Chan District (only Chanchawa Subdistrict and Chanchawa Tai Subdistrict), Chiang Saen District, Doi Luang District, Chiang Khong District (only Khueang Subdistrict, Sri Don Chai Subdistrict, Rim Khong Subdistrict, Wiang Subdistrict, Sathan Subdistrict, and Huai So Subdistrict), and Wiang Kaen District, is scheduled for Sunday, September 14th. Voting will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
