Bangkok: “Pholphi” has raised a question directed at the Prachachat and Pheu Thai parties regarding the timing for the return of the Speaker of the House position. This inquiry comes in the context of both parties now being part of the opposition, raising questions about whether they intend to retain the Speaker position to maintain a balance of power in the country.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phonphi Suwanchawee, a Member of Parliament for Nakhon Ratchasima from the Bhumjaithai Party, expressed his concerns through a post on his personal Facebook page. He questioned the Pheu Thai Party and the Prachachat Party about when they plan to step down from the Speaker of the House role, now that they have transitioned into the opposition.
General Peer elaborated on the issue by highlighting that it pertains to “political etiquette.” He pointed out that, traditionally, the Speaker of the House should be a member of the ruling government, thus emphasizing the significance of this position in maintaining political decorum.
