Bangkok: “Phumtham” confirms there will be no conflict between “doctors and politicians” over the 14th floor. Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, addressed concerns regarding potential disputes between doctors and politicians following support from a medical professor for the Medical Council’s resolution concerning the 14th floor. He emphasized that the media seems to be inciting a conflict that does not exist.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham stated that the opinions expressed by doctors from various sectors in support of the Medical Council’s resolution are valid and should not be perceived as a clash between medicine and politics. He noted that criticism, whether political or otherwise, should not be directed at individuals based on these opinions. Mr. Phumtham reassured that any discussions would adhere to principles, regulations, laws, and relevant restrictions.
When questioned about the possibility of a developing conflict between doctors and politicians, Mr. Phumtham humorously dismissed the notion, attributing the idea of a conflict to media speculation. He maintained that the situation is devoid of any actual discord between the two groups.
