Bangkok: “Phumtham” led the people of Ratchasri in organizing a volunteer activity to serve the public in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on the occasion of her birthday on August 12, 2025. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, presided over the event at Saranrom Park, Grand Palace Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. The celebration was attended by Ms. Teerarat Samretwanit, Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, representatives of royal agencies, executives from various departments, and over 500 volunteers.
According to Thai News Agency, the event was organized to express gratitude for Her Majesty’s royal duties, which have consistently been performed alongside the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, contributing to the nation’s peace, prosperity, and progress. The Ministry of Interior and related agencies designed the volunteer activities to honor His Majesty the King on this auspicious occasion.
The volunteer activities, held at Saranrom Park on Friday, August 8, 2025, included various informative and community service programs. The Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior hosted an exhibition honoring His Majesty the King, while the Department of Provincial Administration offered mobile ID card services. Other departments provided vocational training, waste management demonstrations, land-sharing clinics, disaster prevention knowledge, and urban planning exhibitions.
The event also featured contributions from the Metropolitan and Provincial Electricity Authorities, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, and the Wastewater Management Organization, all providing educational demonstrations and services. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration offered medical units for health services, and the Royal Thai Police educated attendees on traffic discipline, drug issues, and cybercrime.
The Office of the Vocational Education Commission provided a Fix Center service for various repairs and grooming. The Ministry of Interior supported the “Maha Thai Pan Suk” event, promoting OTOP products and souvenirs from nearby provinces. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed music from the “As. Dontri” band and were served royal food.
