Move Forward Party, “Piyabutr” points out that Move Forward is in good spirits, confident that it will survive because of the comparison to the Democrat Party’s case, asks that the party dissolution case proceed according to the law, do not use feelings to decide.
Mr. Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, secretary-general of the Progressive Movement, revealed that from what he observed, the core leaders and MPs of the Move Forward Party are still in good spirits. Since morning, they have been working. Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, advisor to the leader of the Move Forward Party, still stood up to debate in the House of Representatives meeting before traveling to the Constitutional Court, which shows that we are confident in our defense. We have done our best. Everything that needs to be done in the fight has been done. It is up to the Constitutional Court to decide how. Let’s ask that everything proceed according to the law. Do not let feelings be a part of the decision. In the past, Thailand has had many political parties dis
solved, which has had a significant impact on Thai politics. This has caused people to view this issue through politics. However, if we consider it from a legal perspective, we are still confident in our defense.
Mr. Piyabutr also stated that the Constitutional Court must be able to answer the objections that the Move Forward Party has filed through the ruling, which is not just an answer to the Move Forward Party but also to the people because the Move Forward Party is the number 1 party that the people have chosen. And after the Constitutional Court has made a ruling, it will have to bring the ruling to study and it is expected that there will be criticisms to follow. However, the reason why Move Forward is very confident in this case is because there was a ruling by the Democrat Party before this, where the court dismissed the petition. Therefore, the Move Forward Party’s case may also be dismissed.
When asked what qualities a new generation leader should have, Mr. Piyabutr said that since the establishm
ent of the Future Forward Party until the Progressive Movement, the ideological poles of the Future Forward and Progressive Movement have now established themselves as a new political force. It is not a matter of a few people, but also the hopes of the people. They have placed their hopes in Progressive Movement, and no matter what happens today, the Progressive Movement members will volunteer to move forward and fulfill the hopes of the people.
Mr. Piyabutr also reiterated that from the Constitutional Court’s ruling No. 3/67, there is no word that says not to amend Section 112 of the Criminal Code, but it says how it must be amended.
