It will be sourced from PLTGU Muara Karang, PLTGU Muara Tawar, and PLTGU Priok,” PT PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated at the ASEAN Summit Electricity Roll Call in Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday. Prasodjo remarked that his side would also use new renewable energy (EBT) power plants, but he did not provide details regarding the EBT plants. “The electricity used is much cleaner electricity to minimize the impact on pollution,” he noted. part from reducing pollution, PLN will also reduce the power of the Suralaya Steam Power Plant (PLTU). However, Prasodjo also did not furnish details regarding the amount of electrical power that would be reduced and the length of time it would be implemented. “We will minimize the use of PLTU Suralaya to reduce pollution and improve air quality in Jakarta,” he stated. To support the 43rd ASEAN Summit, he noted that electricity supply from PT PLN was ready to meet the needs of this international-scale activity. “We have prepared an electricity system with zero downtime in line with layered feeders and a more reliable electricity supply placed at every ASEAN Summit venue,” he elaborated. PLN has also prepared an electric power system, with a capacity of 8,734 megawatts, a peak load of 5,550 megawatts, and a power reserve of 3,184 megawatts to supply electricity to Jakarta during the event, he stated. To secure electricity supply during the event, PT PLN has implemented a multi-layered security system for the main event locations, such as the Jakarta Convention Center, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, ASEAN Building, Plataran City Forest, and Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno-Hatta Airports, including several hotels and hospitals for the delegations, Prasodjo remarked. Moreover, he said PT PLN has provided electric vehicle charging station facilities for delegations’ transportation, totaling 79 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) comprising 14 ultra-fast charging units, 60 slow charging units, and 5 units of Generation 2 SPKLU. The provision of 79 SPKLU is expected to meet the needs of 800 electric vehicles, including 560 electric cars and 240 electric motorbikes. ccording to Prasodjo, a total of 955 personnel from various work fields will also be alerted to provide services and maintain the operation of the electric power system during the event.
