Moscow: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Russian President Vladimir Putin, serving as Chair of BRICS 2024, hosted a welcome ceremony and reception for head delegates attending the BRICS Summit and Expanded BRICS meeting. The event, held on the evening of October 23 local time, saw the participation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh along with leaders from various countries, territories, and international organizations.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the BRICS Summit and the expanded meeting included leaders from 36 countries and territories, with 22 delegations led by their top leaders or heads of state. The event also drew the participation of leaders from six international organizations, notably featuring United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. This assembly marks a pivotal moment for international cooperation and dialogue among emerging economies and global institutions.
