Police Region 2 Drives Forward the ‘AI Police’ Policy, Piloting in Chonburi

Chonburi: Provincial Police Region 2 drives forward the ‘AI Police’ policy, Chonburi leads the way with continuous training, covering all police lines, developing new public relations media, close to the public. The Provincial Police Region 2 continues the ‘AI Police’ policy of Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos Thepjamnong, Commander of the Provincial Police Region 2, moving forward to develop and drive the potential of police in every province under its jurisdiction to fully enter the digital age, with the Chonburi Provincial Police as the pilot province, organizing a workshop on ‘Creating Public Relations Media for the New Era Police with AI’ for the second time.

According to Thai News Agency, this initiative expands to cover all police officers in every division under its jurisdiction, totaling more than 150 officers, creating ‘AI police’ who are ready to use technology to enhance work efficiency and communication with the public in a modern, transparent manner, and creating new confidence in the organization. On May 29, 2025, at the Chonburi Provincial Police, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatchakiat Jindakuansang, Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, presided over the opening of the workshop ‘Creating Public Relations Media for the New Era Police with AI’ for the second time under the important policy of Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyot Thepjamnong.

This policy focuses on having police in every province under his jurisdiction develop AI technology for use in their operations. This time, the training scope has been expanded to cover all police officers in all departments, including crime prevention and suppression, investigation, traffic investigation, administrative work and management, as well as public relations and news dissemination, emphasizing Chonburi’s readiness as a model province of Region 2.

Pol. Lt. Col. Thawatchakiat stated that this training will help police officers gain more knowledge and understanding of AI technology, which can be used to reduce steps, increase work efficiency in all aspects, and improve public service through social media in a modern format that meets the needs of modern communication, as well as enhance a good image and be closer to the public.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos emphasized that AI is a tool that modern police must know how to use effectively in every job, whether it is investigation, interrogation, prevention and suppression, traffic, administrative-administrative work, including public relations and news dissemination for the public to be aware of in order to improve the work to be fast, modern and transparent. He also emphasized that the most important thing in police work is sincerity, social responsibility, adherence to the law and ethics in communication and performing duties, which are the core that technology like AI cannot replace.

‘We have to use AI as a tool, but the heart is police work that is responsible to the people,’ said Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos. This ongoing training reflects the commitment of the Provincial Police Region 2 to drive the organization into the future, creating a new generation of police ready to respond to the needs of the people, allowing the people to access police information quickly, transparently, and building confidence in the role of the Thai police in the digital age, and preparing to expand this success to every province under its jurisdiction.
