Police to Issue Summons for Director’s Daughter Accused in 15 Million Baht Share Scam

Buriram: Police in Buriram Province are preparing to issue a summons for the daughter of a school director, who is accused of defrauding more than 60 people in a share scam that incurred losses exceeding 15 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ban Kruat Police Station is actively investigating allegations against Ms. Gift, the daughter of the school director, who allegedly operated under the name ‘Ban Gifty’ to deceive participants in a fraudulent share scheme. The victims, hailing from multiple provinces, have begun presenting evidence, including conversation messages and money transfer slips, to support their claims. The purported scam resulted in individual losses ranging from tens of thousands to millions of baht.

Pol. Lt. Phanas Krodprakon, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Ban Kruat Police Station, reported that the police are currently interviewing victims and compiling evidence. So far, five victims have lodged complaints in Ban Kruat District. Despite attempts to contact Ms. Gift, she ha
s not appeared for questioning, prompting authorities to move forward with issuing a summons. The charges she faces include fraud and violations under the Share Gambling Act.

Victims have disclosed that approximately 66 individuals have filed complaints nationwide and internationally, with over 10 cases reported in Ban Kruat District alone. Some victims have approached the Crime Suppression Division and Central Investigation Bureau for assistance.

Efforts to locate Ms. Gift at her village convenience store have been unsuccessful. Her husband’s younger brother stated that she only contacted him to take care of the store but did not provide information on her whereabouts.
